Al Bankole - Feel

An amazing House bit came through to us by way of email yesterday. The producer, Al Bankole, doesn’t have many tunes to showcase at the moment but this is certainly a promising beginning. Building fairly quickly in energy, “Feel” is a synth-rinsed bit with bouncing bass lines that veer from the 4/4 feel wonderfully. Keep an eye out for Al, there are certainly good things to follow.

Ukiyo - Girl

New to our eyes, a young producer that traverses the soundscapes as Ukiyo, has a work-in-progress simply titled, “Girl”. Like any WIP, it has it’s ups and downs, but the ‘ups’…good god. Ukiyo has a keen sense of what sounds function well together and how to appropriately use them. His aesthetic sense of spacing is also very impressive. We’ll be following closely to where he goes from here. Purportedly, the track will be put up for download once he deems it ready, so stay tuned.

Idea3 - Ecstasy

It’s been roughly two years now that we have had the privilege of following the paths that Idea3 has lead us down. The 21 year old producer out of Britain can be highly introspective, and then flip on you and cater to a rowdy club night. He is soon to release his latest EP, appropriately captioned as the ‘Mood EP’. The release holds two very distinct, original productions - “Ecstasy” of course, being one of them. What we have in front of us is an enthralling story being told through the methods of electronic artwork. There’s so many drastic changes in mood, and atmosphere that it’s almost like a short mix of sorts. What Idea3 does however, is sustain a singular idea and thought through out the song, keeping it all refreshingly coherent and beautiful. You can stream both originals from Soundcloud, but ultimately it’s his Bandcamp that you’ll need to roll over to. The ‘Moods EP’ is out tomorrow, April 26th.

Latcha - Brothers

Soon to release his latest EP this May, Latcha has spontaneously thrown up a new bit of his. Upholding the wholesome sounds of house, the levelheaded producer exemplifies the 4/4, including smoggy, rolling synth work that make “Brothers” increasingly fun and energetic. Download it now, via Soundcloud.

Joy Orbison - Donell

As a team,  Joy Orbison and Boddika are a blaze that is inextinguishable. And lately we have seen nothing but the two of them hammer away with banger after banger. This latest bit by Orbison though is a revitalizing step outside the ‘Nonplus’ realm. “Donell” still has Joy O written all over it, but the feature of prolonged, lyrical R&B vocals differentiates it from some of his more recent productions. Packaged perfectly for the floor, it’s encouraging to hear a bit that’s a little more breezy; less minor chords, and more welcoming lyricism. At the very least, this tune serves as a steady reminder of just where Joy Orbison stands in this convoluted culture - at the forefront. He, among a select few, are at the spearhead of all this, setting the mood and playing major roles in determining where it’s all going from here. We’re here to listen and follow. Download via Soundcloud.
