Drums Of Death - Waves City

At times the culture and overall aggressive nature of bass music’s ability to churn out massive tunes one after another can register as a tad overwhelming to say the least. Pairing hand in hand with this significantly inclusive trait is the unfortunate yet inevitable overlooked release. In this case, we re-present you Drums Of Death’s considerably underrated and painfully nostalgic “Waves City.” Drawing influence from what sounds like Sega Genesis era Sonic The Hedgehog, London oriented Colin Bailey manages to tout new age synth chords in an otherworldly, bordering on virtual, sea of funky relevancy. Confused but comprehensive, “Waves City” bends, twists, and eventually abolishes its somewhat off putting piano introduction; wherein it manifests itself into a full-agro, beast of a sweaty mess by fruition. Although both the song and it’s encompassing release where in-fact somewhat overlooked it doesn’t change the fact that this is still highly cerebral, summer dance music. My recommendation, purchase Drums Of Death’s ‘Blue Waves’ EP, turn it on full blast, and end your summer right. Visit Bailey on his Soundcloud and site.
