Data Romance - Caves (Benjamin Damage Dub Mix)

Promptly following the release of this year’s phenomenal ‘They, Live’ Benjamin Damage vanished from both our radar and bass music’s ever-evolving cartographic atlas. But upon futher inspection of our Soundcloud stream, we were treated to a rugged yet subtly released gem, beginning to burgeon out of the sites orange and bluish ethereal murk. No, Damage’s rework of Data Romance’s palpably pop motivated “Caves” does not evoke the same timid, collapsible feeling that ‘They, Live’ had formerly established but rather rips and tears through “Caves’s” glitch oriented mesosphere. What’s left after the charred remains of the original are sorted and sifted is not a glistening pop tidbit but a massive techno piece that more than tilts towards Martyn’s coveted ‘Ghost People.’ Hopefully with the release of this remix, Damage basks amidst the pale green limelight a bit longer but until then, head to Benjamin’s Soundcloud to keep up to date and make sure to pick up a copy of Data Romance’s ‘Caves’ EP today.
