Grobbie, from the well-known label Tuff Wax, just put out a free track that combines some luscious synths with chopped, and sped-up vocals weaving there way through your ears. The mixture of sounds creates an environment of pensive introversion, something preferably played through headphones while loitering down some idle street on a grey day. Maribou State - Rush Don’t Run (Feat. Pedestrian) Clip

It is a very encouraging feeling one gets with the vibes from this collaboration between Maribou State and Pedestrian. Not simply due to the track - but more importantly, the accomplishment of two highly-skilled entities pooling their abilities together to produce an absolute gem. It speaks on the camaraderie that exists within this culture, which is both inspiring and uplifting. Enough preaching; “Rush Don’t Run” encapsulates a trundling bass line that keeps your attention from start to finish, while the vocals speak for themselves in terms of gravitas (Cliché or not, the drop is absolutely phenomenal). The sound pushes for a bittersweet atmosphere, with minor chords lacing themselves throughout. Strangely enough, this is only a clip of whats to come on Maribou State’s upcoming ‘Native EP’ via Southern Fried Records this June, so as if it couldn’t get any better - it will.

Having always gravitated towards a darker, brooding side of this culture, Bruises capitalizes on an area usually sidestepped by most producers - and he does so in a brilliant fashion. Rarely uplifting, “Spit//Silk” is inspiring nonetheless with it’s rainy background and solemn vocals. What’s mesmerizing though is the subtle yet expert execution of playing with the tempo - slowing down, speeding up, and everything in between. While this track is only available to listen, Bruises has a Bandcamp with some free tunes, as well as a release through Infinite Machine available now.

5kinandbone5, despite having the weirdest tumblr in the world, manufactures some gorgeous tunes. Case in oddly uncharacteristic point, “HOLOGRAPHIC LOVE.” Sure, we give them a bad time for their tumblr’s strange aesthetic but when the duo are capable of making compositions like this, it really doesn’t matter how strange they get. From get go 5kinandbone5 opts for slightly atmospheric vocals and deadly smooth synth instrumentation, but by songs breakdown the Californian natives rolls out the garage vibes.
